Welcome to Loyola Alumni, the official alumni networking platform for Loyola School, Jamshedpur. By accessing or using Loyola Alumni, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). Please read them carefully.
1. Acceptance of Terms: These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Loyola School, Jamshedpur. If you do not agree with any part of the Terms, you must not use our services.
2. Eligibility and Account Integrity: You must be at least 18 years old and a graduate or former student of Loyola to create an account. By registering, you represent and warrant that:
• You meet all eligibility requirements
• All information you provide is accurate, current, and complete
• You will maintain and update your information to keep it accurate
• You will not create fake, duplicate, or impersonation accounts
• We reserve the right to verify your alumni status with Loyola School, Jamshedpur at any time
3. Child Safety and Age-Appropriate Experience (CSAE) Standards: Loyola Alumni is designed exclusively for adult alumni aged 18 and above. We are committed to maintaining a safe environment and prohibit:
• Content that exploits, harms, or endangers minors in any way
• Sharing of inappropriate content involving minors
• Any attempt to contact or solicit information from users under 18
• Grooming, predatory behavior, or any form of child exploitation
We employ automated systems and human review to detect and remove prohibited content. Users who violate these standards will be immediately banned and reported to appropriate authorities when required by law.
4. Content Standards and Community Guidelines: Loyola Alumni is committed to maintaining a respectful and safe environment for all alumni. You agree not to post, share, or transmit content that:
• Contains hate speech, discrimination, or harassment based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic
• Includes threats, bullying, intimidation, or encourages violence or self-harm
• Contains sexually explicit content, nudity, or pornographic material
• Violates intellectual property rights or contains copyrighted material without permission
• Spreads misinformation, spam, or malicious content including viruses or harmful code
• Impersonates others or misrepresents your affiliation with any person or entity
• Solicits personal information from minors or attempts to contact users under 18
• Promotes illegal activities, regulated goods, or violates any applicable laws
• Contains photos or media of others without their consent
• Uses photos of celebrities, stock images, or others as profile pictures
• Shares content you don't have the right to share
• Promotes multi-level marketing, pyramid schemes, or unauthorized business solicitations
• Contains AI-generated content without clear disclosure
Violations of these standards will result in the following actions:
• First Violation: Warning issued and content removed
• Second Violation: Temporary account suspension (7-30 days depending on severity)
• Severe or Repeated Violations: Permanent account termination and ban from the platform
• Illegal Content: Immediate permanent ban and reporting to law enforcement authorities
5. Content Moderation and Reporting: We employ both automated systems and human review to maintain platform safety:
• Reporting: All user-generated content in Loyola Alumni includes a prominently displayed report button for immediate flagging of inappropriate content. Users can report inappropriate content or behavior using this button, and all reports are reviewed within 24 hours.
• Response Time: Urgent safety issues involving imminent harm are reviewed within 2 hours. Standard content reports are reviewed within 24 hours. Appeals receive responses within 48 hours.
• Appeals: If your content is removed or account is sanctioned, you may appeal the decision by contacting our support team at hello@alumnispark.com.
• Proactive Moderation: We use automated tools to detect and prevent prohibited content from being posted, supplemented by human review for context-sensitive decisions.
6. User Safety Features: Loyola Alumni provides several features to ensure user safety:
• Blocking: You can block other users to prevent them from viewing your content, contacting you, or interacting with you in any way on the platform.
• Content Filtering: Blocked users' content will be completely filtered from your experience across all features of the app.
• Privacy Controls: You can control who can see your profile, posts, and contact information through privacy settings.
• Safe Communication: All initial messages between users are subject to enhanced monitoring to prevent harassment and inappropriate contact.
7. User Accounts and Data Management: You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You agree not to share your password or allow unauthorized access. You must notify us immediately of any breach.
• Account Creation: For enhanced security and identity verification, Loyola Alumni requires authentication through trusted providers (Sign in with Apple or Google). This ensures all users are verified humans and not bots.
• Account Revocation: You may revoke Loyola Alumni's access to your social account data at any time through your Apple ID or Google Account settings.
• Data Access: We only access basic profile information (name, email) from your social provider. No posts or contacts are accessed.
• Account Deletion: You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time through our data deletion page at Loyola Alumni/delete-me or by contacting support.
• Data Portability: You may request a copy of your personal data in a portable format.
• Content Ownership: You retain ownership of content you post but grant us a license to display and distribute it within the platform.
8. User Conduct and Platform Integrity: You agree to use Loyola Alumni in compliance with all applicable laws. You will not:
• Harass, abuse, stalk, or defame other users
• Use automated systems, bots, or scripts to access the platform
• Scrape, crawl, or collect data without written permission
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or circumvent security measures
• Create tools or services that interface with our platform without authorization
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any accounts or systems
• Violate any technical limitations or use restrictions
We reserve the right to remove content and terminate accounts that violate these guidelines.
9. Intellectual Property: All content, trademarks, and intellectual property on Loyola Alumni are owned by Loyola School, Jamshedpur or its licensors. You retain ownership of any content you post but grant Loyola School, Jamshedpur and AlumniSpark LLC a non-exclusive license to display it.
10. Privacy: Your use of Loyola Alumni is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect and use your information.
11. Third-Party Services: Loyola Alumni may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for their policies or practices.
12. Termination: We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these Terms or for any reason at our discretion.
13. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability: Loyola Alumni is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Loyola Alumni disclaims all liability arising from your use of the service.
14. Data Retention: We retain user-generated content and account data for as long as your account is active. After account deletion, we may retain certain information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes for up to 90 days. Content you've shared with others may remain visible to those users even after your account deletion.
15. International Compliance:
• GDPR Compliance: For users in the European Union, we comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, data portability, and object to processing of your personal data.
• COPPA Compliance: Loyola Alumni does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will immediately delete such information from our servers.
• Age Restrictions: By registering, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old. We verify this through your alumni status, as graduation from Loyola requires users to be of legal age.
16. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution:
• Governing Law: These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Jharkhand, India, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
• Dispute Resolution: Any disputes arising from these Terms shall first be resolved through good faith negotiations. If resolution cannot be reached within 30 days, disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration in Jharkhand, India.
• Jurisdiction: You consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Jharkhand, India for any legal proceedings arising from these Terms.
17. Emergency and Law Enforcement:
• Immediate Danger: If you believe someone is in immediate physical danger, contact your local law enforcement authorities immediately.
• Law Enforcement Cooperation: We cooperate fully with law enforcement agencies and will provide information as required by law or valid legal process.
• Emergency Disclosure: We may disclose user information without notice if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to prevent imminent physical harm or financial loss.
18. Monetary Transactions and Payments:
• All payments for premium features must be processed through Apple's In-App Purchase system on iOS devices
• External payment links, cryptocurrency solicitations, or off-platform payment requests are strictly prohibited
• Commercial promotions must be clearly disclosed and comply with alumni community guidelines
19. Changes to Terms: We may modify these Terms at any time. When we do, we will post the revised date at the top of this page and notify you of significant changes.
